    Ribbon and Medal Bars

These are beautiful medals. Here are some Luftwaffe ribbons bars and a medal bar with this medal or its ribbon.

Note the ribbon bar in the lower right that has the swords on this campaign medal -- no doubt added to enhance the "combat" aspect of this ribbon, as Angel mentions above (black color lines).

Note that German LC veterans used to add crossed swords to almost every Spanish medal ribbon, even to Military Merit Order white medals awarded for noncombant duties. And always against Spanish regulations. No doubt they wanted to show they had been "in the ****".

On the other hand, there are simply too many unissued, brand new SCW Campaign Medals with eye-blinding, shiny gold washes floating around. At leas five of them can be found anytime at E-Bay. C'mon... I don't like the "forgotten stock found in an old crate" theory. I am starting to think serously that somebody has put some old dies in use.

        Best regards

Made up until the 1970's I was informed...??? I can't back this up on premise....perhaps the medal maker still produces awards etc It might be an idea to try and research out of interest further info on these. We've deliberated this once or twice before.

If any Spanish members can help me I'd appreciate it. Please pm me.

Here you go Mike just for you, my bar.

Everybody and their brother got one of those, you didnt have to be anywhere near Sudetenland. If you waved bye-bye to a train leaving for Czechoslovakia, you qualified. From what I remember, the dock workers loading ships bound for Sudetenland were awarded these.
