Hi guys,
I saw this pretty nice 4-placer up for auction. Certainly to a longtime career member of the Wehrmacht, serving in some rear-echelon duty. In two world wars, the guy may never have heard the sound of guns on a battlefield. Still, if he was stationed in Wilhelmshaven, he must have heard the explosions of falling bombs as this coastal town was being reduced to rubble.
With a little TLC, this bar could be restored to some of its original elegance. If those suspension rings were tucked back under the ribbons (where they belong) and the Wehrmacht eagle devices were replaced, I think this bar would look terrific.
Best regards,
Tom
