    SWB Case for what maker?

    Dear All,

I got a cased silver wound badge the other day. The badge is mm 11. The case is mm L 1?. Clearly, the badge and the case have not left the factory together but were "married" post 1945.

What is you reading of the L- stamp, L/13 or L/15 or ??? The best would be to see an absolutely identical case with a clear mark. Anybody???

Next step for me would be to replace the mm 11 WB with a correct match for the case.

    Thanks in advance

    Best regards,
    Al

Albert ... the maker mark on the case is in fact "L/11". This was the mark for "Wilhelm Deumer, Ludensheid".

Like you say. The Badge does not "officially" belong to the case as the maker mark "11" is for "Grossmann und Co, Wien".

            Hope that helps.

I agree, the case is not match with the WB but the most important is that both are original and these two makers are known manufacturers for the Wound awards.

Could it be possible that this box was sent to the badge manufacture by mistake? What I mean is did the manufacture make their own cases, or
get them shiped in by another firm?I would keep the box
                don
Yes,I collect wound badges.....And looking for more.
