    tank destruction ribbon bar ?????

    has anyone seen this before it is on e bay but looks period or maybe 57 time frame ?

    IMO the tank was added later and it is not original. Ribbon looks like one for Prussian Militärehrenzeichen.

      Do you have a picture of the reverse? It looks like a WW2 Period ribbon bar that may have been modified for wear in the postwar Bundeswehr. From the hole that is present in the long-service ribbon I would guess that this once had a Wehrmacht eagle device and, of course, that would have been removed if the guy was wearing this in the postwar years. The ribbon bar for single-handed destruction of a tank did not exist during WW2, but it certainly did exist in this form from 1957 onward.
