    Afrika medals

    Hello again
These are two medals from the collection I inherited and need help with. I have identified them as Afrika medals by going through previous posts. I also believe from the previous postings on these medals that the one on the left is probably a copy and the one on the right possibly original. Perhaps you would be kind enough to let me have your opinions. Also, could you please advise the criteria for this award.
    Many thanks
    Andy

I prefer the right example you posted for being original, note the crisper details and overall look to the medal.

This is not to imply that the zinc one is bad, just a personal preference.

More opinions and thought would be nice as I am looking for answers on these awards myself. http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ad.php?t=76529

I don't pretend to be an expert on medal production but the medal on the left appears to be a cast repo

Hi Andy i believe the one on the left that appears to be zinc is fake, lacks the crispness of the original. Swaz looks wrong (arms to thin) and if you look at the symbol for Italy (left of the Arch.) it is pointing inwards and not dirrectly upwards as it should. As already mentioned it looks cast. Sorry . The right side one is good, looks to be zinc in a bronze coat. All the best.
