    Ribbon bar help id needed

    Hi
This is another item that I need help with. I know its a ribbon bar but I need to know if possible if it is genuine and if so what medals are represented. Also, if genuine, any idea of the value.
    Many thanks.
    Regards
    Andy

        Andy,

the bar as such looks fine. Could you post a closeup of the spange? There are fakes out there even of this tiny bits and some people like to mess around with these things and add devices to ribbon bars.

        best,
        Gerd

            couple quick questions

hey Andy, the bar's quite interesting. Everything looks like original parts, but it may be just a parts bar.... The second ribbon is the Bavarian Military Merit Order Statutory Ribbon of white with blue stripes.... unless there's black stripes there on the edges that I am totally missing..... while a quite real award, only way to have swords on that ribbon would be someone serving ca, 1902/05....... which presents an issue since there's no long service on the bar.
But you have matching, pre-ww2 swords (nice ones), spange on the EK2 ribbon looks quite real to me based strictly on the pix.
Last medal looks like WW2 social welfare medal.
'39 KVK2wX should be in second place, in front of the Bavarian Cross and Honor Cross but as you have a tab-back, easy enough to shuffle.
BUT, if it's a parts-piece as I suspect, re-tabbing things in proper order could be a problem since the tabs will not hold up to repeated bends.... they will snap off and then you have nothing but parts.
Real parts mind you, but still parts...

              Hi Andy

              The awards represented are:

Iron Cross 1914 2nd Class with 1939 bar
Bavarian Military Merit Order or Cross on peacetime ribbon
1914-18 Cross of Honour for Combatants
              War Merit Cross with Swords
German Red Cross medal or German Social Welfare medal

The correct precedence would have the War Merit Cross with Swords in second place but I wouldn't worry too much about it.

(Sorry - cross posted with Rick)
