Boxed medal-need help

Hi
Firstly,I hope I have this in the correct section. This is part of a collection I have inherited. I know next to nothing about German items as I am a collector of British Militaria.
This is the first of quite a few items with which I need help. I am trying to sort the collection between originals and copies and also trying to put names to all the items.
Your help would be very much appreciated.

Commermorative medal of 1 Oct 1938 for the German annexation of Czecholsovakia with the Prague Castle bar for those who directly took part in the take over of Czech, Bohemia and Moravia.

Does this box have a material feel or is it 'paper' covered. The box could well be bad.

PS the medal looks maker marked on the suspension ring...whats the number if any on it.

The ring reads 16 and the box has a material feel to it.

16 thats a maker mark for Alois Rettenmaier, Schwabisch Gmund (with .. over the first A in Schw....) Nice medal and nice to be maker marked !

I'll post a picture of a fake box in a while for you and some pointers just to confirm on this box, but I really do think this is a modern repro and they can be found for sale on Tony Yeomans site.

I enclose a pic of the catch. I suspect it is a copy. At least the medal is real. I shall have to wait for a real box to turn up
