Hi,

B.R.I.R 17 = Bayerisches Reserve-Infanterie-Regiment No. 17

The first commander was an August Großmann (Grossmann), but not Grossman with only one n at the end. That is very unusual!
Augsburg was the garrison with the main parts of the regiment.
