Hello General Awards Forum Members!

Awhile here I had seen a thread regarding open suspension rings on certain medals to the effect that some were produced this way. I believe most we encounter are brazen shut. Not sure how common or generally accepted this was but wouldn't want to put this set as a questionable item on the E-stand here. Otherwise within my research I have no issues with this medal.

There's nothing wrong with your "Ost" medal. It is an original
J.E. Hammer & Sohne with the 'light stamping' of the design.

Suspension rings are 'open' sometimes depending on maker.
