    Czech Annexation Medals with packets

    Hello to all,

I bought two Czech Annexation Medals with packets over the weekend at the MAX Show. They were $30 and $20 respectively, so I couldn't pass them up.

The first set came with a Gebrüder Godet, Berlin packet and a brooch-mounted Czech Medal. I doubt that this set was originally paired together as brooch-mounted Annexation Medals came in cases, not paper packets. The packet has no designation on the front, which is typical for Annexation Medal packets.

This second set came with a Otto Fechler, Bernsbach packet. It is possible that this set was originally paired together, but one cannot be certain. Again, there is no medal designation on the front of the packet.

Very nice Tom! I collect packeted ones from Gablonz makers, but there were a lot of other makers. These are the first I've seen from these two.

You made a very good business Tom. These packets are rarer than the medals.

Both are beautiful sets, and from these far pictures it seems medals have the same design.

                      Hi Antonio,

I agree. Both of the medals look identical, design-wise. Good eye!

                      Best regards,
                      Tom

Here are larger pictures showing the fronts side by side:

Actually, the only difference I see is that the one the left has a split suspension ring while the one on the right has a brazed suspension ring. Obviously, the one on the right was not made to accommodate a brooch-mounted ribbon.

Really fun to buy the basics that have a unique packet to them. Nice addition Tom!

This Czech Annexation Medal was acquired today at a small military show. The guy had a case of lead fakes and this was the only item that was real.

                              Best regards,
                              Tom
