As part of the Nachlass to Oberleutnant Werner Claus is his medalbar.
On 17. 2. 1944 Claus was named the Kompanie-Chef of the Stabskompanie Grenadier Regiment 918.
Claus was serving with ill-equippedGrenadier-Regiment 918 of 242. Infanterie Division in South France during the Operation Dragoon. On 27. August, he was wounded during the battle of Tolouse. In October of 1944, the 262. Infanterie Division was disbanded.
I like the "compact" combination. Claus served since 1932 in the Arbeitsdienst and throughout the war. He was not mobilized for the Anschluss and Sudenten Crisis and was awarded "only" the RAD Service medal, EK 2 for Actions in France (he was even taken prisoner in France 1940 and the entry is in his Solduch) and later the Verwundetenabzeichen in France 1944.
The "complete" Story can be found here:

What are your suggestions: should I attempt to superficially remove the rust on the Frame?
Thank you.
Erich
