I know that there is no back pictures, but can you say anything just looking at the front (a part of a possible purchase)

I would say it is a fake/repro, due to the missing line between the k98 and the swastika

Hello Søren,

The picture of the front is not too clear, but it is possibly an original Infantry Assault Badge by Rudolf Souval. Not all original IABs had the area between the rifle and swastika cut-out. But it would be imperative to see a picture of the reverse. Souval continued producing badges long after the war, so seeing the hardware setup on the reverse is very important.

Here I show you a Souval from my collection, as you can see there is not a cut-out area between the rifle and swastika.
