Help IDing two medals

Hi Forum,

I purchased a WW2 photo album, which contains British documents and photo's relating to a unit in India during WW2 which I am interested in researching, but there are a couple of German medals on the cover which I think are merit medals, but not 100% sure which class. Photo is here:

I was hoping somebody could confirm this.

Hi Paul......

......They are both War Merit Crosses, and they are both first class. Pinback most likely, though one couldn't rule out screwback.

Thank you very much for confirming. I have just extracted the two badges from the cover of the album, and am just uploading the photo's to the same photobucket library. They are indeed pinback, and the only maker marks I can see are on the pins themselves. Also in the back of the album was a cloth badge, it would be good to get an ID on this too.
