    Non magnetic Long Service Medal

It´s well known that the main part of the Long Service medal and crosses must be done in iron silvered or gilded. I´ve just got this one in gilded tombak. Do you know anything about the maker of this one? What´s your opinion about?

      Medal looks good.

Have no idea who the maker is.

I have groupings of long service medals in my collection where one is magnetic and one is not magnetic or both non magnetic or both magnetic.

Majority of course in my experience are magnetic but not always.

That applies to all 4 grades of this award.

For me too Greg it is an original medal, but I cannot help you about the maker.
As Wayne pointed out we know these medals were made also with tombak, the devices too were made in tombak.

        My books:

        - THE WEHRPAß & SOLDBUCH OF THE WH
        - THE SS TK RING
        - THE ITALIAN-GERMAN MEDAL
        - THE ANTI PARTISAN BADGE
        - THE AWARDS OF THE LW

        and more!

Devices are a crap shoot too.

You just never know until you put a magnet to the device if it is magnetic or not.

You could say they are mix and match.
