German Eagle Order - 2nd class - Opinions??

A friend recently found the attached eagle order belonging to a Dane. The box is the standard red box with insription in the lid for the 2nd class.

The cross itself is however apparantly a converted cross where the enamel on the reverse has been chipped off and a pin affixed.

Anybody seen such type of cross before/opinions?

I´ve never seen a cross like this,...the back, the pin, the eagles...I don´t like it....

I agree with Koj. Nothing in this cross looks good.

I can only second Koj's comment. At least it isn't a German made version of the Deutsches Adler-Orden.

As comparison I am enclosing the image of my Steckkreuz without swords, hallmarked 21 (Gebr. Godet & Co, Berlin) with the silver contents (900).
