This medal is an original without any doubts.
My question is: why this medal marked "4", is perfectly matching with those produced from Meybauer? (Giel found one in a box marked L/13 some years ago).

Is it possible that S&L produced these medals and Meybauer bought them from S&L for retail sale?

Here's another perfectly matching until today attributed to Meybauer...

PS: Plaut, can you post some better straight pictures?

here is another I have coming to me which I believe is S&L as it came with a load of S&L badges and an RK in the group, virtually all Ludenscheid stock. They certainly derive from the same die but the Meybauer attributed type shown always stands out to me due to the flaws on the inner cross arms by the swaz- the S&L pieces don't have these and are nicer and crisper in strike IMO.

Perfect match? The loops are different and Patrick shows yet another type

                cheers

Here another picture. Yes Peter, they perfectly match. Have a look at this comparison below.

The die for S&L and for Meybauer is exactly the same. As you pointed out loops are different...

I'd like to see some better straight pictures of the Patrick's medal.

Did Meybauer bought these medals from S&L?
Or did e bought the die from S&L to start his production?

We know Deumer too sold Luftschutz 1 class medals, but the die used is completely different fromthese posted here.

My mistake, I should have specificly stated that comment involved only the three different types of loops.

                    cheers

Gees two of these in 1 collection. I tired to get an original for 3 years and never saw one!

But then again that was the dark ages before the web.

As stated before, you have here a nice and original S&L zinc medal.
