    Enamel badges! Good or not!

I was at a show and collector had these for
    sale!

I had no faith in them! I thought they were making
lots of fake enamel stuff in 8o's.

I told him I would check!

    So what do others think!

          Genuine or Not

Hi Paul, haven't seen any of these before, but the catch on the reverse of the Red Cross Alpine badge looks a bit naughty ....Tony.

As far as i know, the first two are fantasy items. DonĀ“t know the third one. I am not sure though, wait for more response.

            best,

I've seen the first badge a few times and it has been described as a fantasy piece but never with any concrete evidence that it was not a pre 1945 manufactured item. I've handled two and have been impressed with the very high quality of the construction and enamel work. Most anyone handling one of these would believe it to be quality pre 1945 construction. The pin looks a bit odd but similar pin set ups exist on other badges. I think there was a thread that was started on this and one of the 1936 Olympics numbered badges where the conclusion was a big ?

I agree, the general opinion among enamel collectors is that all of these are fantasy. However, there isn't any real proof either way.

The event that the student badge reprosents certainly occured, but no one seems to know whether a badge was made to commemorate it.

Sorry I can't be more herlpful, you can try posting on the tinnie & political forum as more enamel guys visit there than here.

                Cheers
                Don
