    Question about fake medals

There is something I dont understand and maybe someone here can shed some light on it for me.

I just saw a fake knights cross in the bazaar table at sale for 250 euros.
Why is a fake RK worth more then a fake EKII? I understand that there are different qualities that will affect the price but the cost of making the crosses is the same. So why is a fake RK so much more expensive then a fake EKII? To me they have the same value...

And I have checked a replica seller just for fun and he wants £10 for a bronze Mother's Cross and £14 for silver and gold. Why?

And a S.S. 4 Year Long Service Medal costs £24 while a Russian Front Medal costs £11. The ostmedal has more details on it and should be more expensive to make and therefore more expensive to buy but it is not. Why?

I have no interest in fake medals but can someone please enlighten me.

Alot of it may have to do with the quality of the reproduction and the ribbon differance....but, of course, the actual production cost ,assuming equal quality, between fakes would only increase by one eigth (aprox. differance in size)... once the necessary "dies" were made.

It's what the market will bear.... as a reproduction it only has "display" value..
    but "somebody" buys them....

I would imagine too that the price has something to do with the desirability of the award and the price of the original.

So for example, a collector may not have £xxxxx for an original KC but he/she might be willing to fork out £xxx on a good quality reproduction to act as a space filler.

      Kind regards

Yes, I assumed that was the case but why doesn't the makers of these medals pump out more RK´s insted of EK´s then? Its roughly the same production costs but the selling prices differs very much.

I still have a hard time understanding why anyone would spend alot of money on fake medals, I would rather take a original west wall medal to my collection. But maybe thats just me.

And 4 bucks extra for a silver painted MC instead of a brons painted, thats just ridicules.
