    medalla Division Española de Voluntarios.

    Hi need some advice with this medal, not in the best condition.. no maker mark, but i know a few hasnt..(could be S&L). Many thanks in advance Oberst.

      As I´ve said in some other threads about these medals, since the modern fakes are out there, nobody can say if they are original or not from pictures like these.
      Anycase, about this piece, I´m pretty sure that it´s a good one because the traces of zink pest are very usual in these medals and it can´t be reproduced in the modern fakes, as they are made in a kind of aluminium alloy.
      The ribbon isn´t the original wartime made in german for sure.

          I agree with Greg, the zinc pest on this medal let me think it is an original wartime piece.

                Because only one issue of this ribbon was produced in Germany for this medal during the TR, and this isn´t. I´ll try to post a picture of the original one later. Anycase if you research in this forum you´ll find some comments about this question.
                The wides of the black and white stripes are slightly different and the yellow have a different tone also.
                THis ribbon is a replacement one made in Spain in the 50´s or 60´s. So I didn´t and I wouldn´t say that this ribbon is a fake.

                        for comparison, on this photo, only the left medal has the german ribbon. you can see the difference in colour. the right one is the spanish version.
