    Envelope for LS-miniature, maker???

This miniature was bought attached to this little paper bag (31x58mm). Instead of putting it into the bag, it was pinned to the obverse . The letters Sohne are clearly visible, but what about the rest .

      Hi Gerd.

Precisely, no match to either LDO-list nor L-# list. This bugged me, so I checked the M1-list and found a possible candidate: Richard Sieper & Söhne,Lüdenscheid.
      (M1/50).
I guess one possibility is that this firm produced the LS-awards until 1940, when they ceased to award them. By the introduction of LDO-numbers in 1941, the firm didn't qualify. Any opinions on this scenario are welcomed.

        Peter,
Your scenario sounded good to me there is definitely room under the ink smudge for R.Si. Now I believe this is a packet for Richard Sieper & Söhne but after checking the RZM list for both Long Service Medals M11 and L.S. miniatures M12 and not finding him listed in ether places I looked in the RZM list for day badges and there he is M9/25 so with the 25 that is on the packet I think someone just attached the mini L.S. pin to a day badge envelope. How does that sound?

The packet is for the medal. I notice a bit of difference in the suspension rings between Peter's and mine. One of mine is repaired and my ribbons are strange. I am happy with these as they were pretty cheap.

Double WOW!! James, you just made my day . Until now I was only aware of M-cathegories from 1-10 and you opened a door for an answer to a question I've had for a long time. I guess the packet-issue has been confirmed by Beery, but the M12 (miniatures) explaines the pictured NSDAP-LS shown below. It's marked M12/9 and was attached to a pin together with the bronze 10 year. It also indicates that 15 year could be worn separately and not necessarily together with the 10 year, contrary to the regulations of the Wehrmacht LS's.
And how have I reached that conclusion . Well, I have the 15 NSDAP LS 9mm pin from the same maker! Rick (dr Know ) will probably make my findings short-lived and run me over, but I take my chances.

Beery, thanks for sharing . I agree, the ribbons look wierd. The two LS's shown below are two different versions. The 4 is 16,25mm and the 12 is 15,45mm. Any more packages like this out there?

                    Peter,
Glad to have been a little help. I should have realized the number on the packet was for the year of the Service on the medal.
