Thank you all. There is not much info on these as I guess they are not considered as 'glamorous' as some awards, and this puts my paranoia to rest. At least until the next package arrives
Al P,
That is a fine looking medal you got there. Mine is nice, but not near as nice as yours. I was looking at mine the other day and noticed a maker mark on the ring. I am pretty sure it is mm 60. I had my wife look at it as well and she agrees that it is a 60. My camera will not take that detailed of a picture so there is no point in posting it. I am wondering if these medals were frequently stamped with mm, and if so were there several makers.
Thanks, Brian

Brian,
These medals were not typically marked, but I have a few medals (including a Luftschutz) marked by maker "60." (Katz u. Deyhle, Pfozheim) It's a pretty nice aluminum example. One other is a KVM, which are 99 times out of 100 unmarked. They are all of pretty good quality; maybe this maker really wanted everyone to know who made them!
That is in great shape!!! These kind of go under the radar of a lot of collectors, but I know I like them and they are still affordable for the most part.
Greg, these were awarded for meritorious service in the Luftschutz (civil defense)
