Honor cross and a pin, opinions please.

    Hi,

Just got these two ugly things but I had to buy something not expensive
since I'm just begining and don't want to make painful mistakes at start.

The cross is an original. These are fairly common awards.
Just a collecting note: buy the best quality pieces you can unless it is attributed to an individual or has a history of some sort. Doing that up front will eliminate the need to upgrade later and save you money.

                Last one : both together.

When I opened the bag to take them out the back side of the pin just
dettach from the NSFK, it was glued in a bad way.

                  Thank you Don.

Yes I intend to buy only medals in good condition ( unless they are very
rare ). This is just "practice money", I all the time want to buy but hold
myself till I get all the books I ordered and continue following what everybody
                  say here.

There are some "families" that I know I really want for now : the mother
crosses family and firefighters medals too.

                  Ran

Edit : I also want the "Order of the White Falcony" but it's too expensive
now. I didn't find ANY detail about it in the web, hopefuly it will be
mentioned in one of the books.

                    NSFK pin

                    Hello,

A dab of JB weld after being mixed good should do the trick for your pin. Here is an example of a cross I had to fix after buying it in a seperated condition. Hope this helps:

                    Thanks.

                      Thanks all1know, I don't know what is JB ( I do know what is J&B though )

I don't think I want to mess with it for now, it don't show in the picture but
the glue ( or whatever ) that was on it before is really not nice, I don't want
to add more to it. I will probably sell it or give it as a present ( only to a
collector ) after I get better items.

I think the honor cross is a good area to start your collection. Try for the other two. You will find this cross on many medal bars.Good luck

                          Hi Don,

What are the other two ? I know about another one without swords for
                          non-combatant but not about another.

                          Thanks,

There is also a black one without swords for widows and parents of soldiers killed.
