This wouldn't be one for my collection, for the following reasons:-
. The quite regimented, almost grid like pattern to the stippling
. The lack of any outward pointing leaves between each front facing oakleaf on the wreath
. The sharp, block like appearance of the wreath binder
. The rounded serifs on the spindly lettering (this style of lettering is evident on a great many SS-DA fakes of all grades)
. The lack of sharpness to the strokes of the runes on the reverse
. The overall shape of the suspension loop
. The soldering at the wide end of the suspension loop
. The angular bevel to the numeral on the reverse which gives the impression of a ridge
. The unnecessarily high relief to much of the detailing
This type has been discussed many times recently and they seem to be popping up just about everywhere at the moment, but other collectors are willing to give them a chance on the grounds that they are well manufactured and die struck, but my own personal opinions on why I do not like them are outlined above.
Hi, case is not an original one, and the medal as JC stated is very questionable, and we have no one solid proof that prove this is a wartime piece. Probably it is a well made fake.
If I were you, I would pass on this set.
