    Last minute Flemarket Ribbon find!

Really in the very last minute I got these three bars.

The first one come from a Nachlass of an unnamed Oberst (perhaps the ribbon bar holds the key to his name), the only things left were the cavalry shoulderboards.

Unfortunately the long service cross device is missing from the second bar.

And the third bar - my first embroidered police long service eagle!

Have a question about the two place police ribbon bar:

When I take a look at the width of the ribbons, it seems a bit like a four place ribbon bar: Place 1: Ehrenkreuz, Place 2: Ehrenkreuz (not possible) Place 3: Police Long Service, Place 4: Army long service.....or it is just a ribbon bar anomaly?

          Thanks

          Erich

            Hi Erich,

This is just a two place ribbon bar, a very nice one! Done in a southern style folded mounting. The bracket would have been capable of displaying 4 separate ribbons. But in this case, the bearer only had two to display!

The Police Bevo dienstauszeichnung is off centre, only because it could not be sewn in the middle of a southern style twist... (these were machine made separately on lengths of ribbon). It is VERY unusual to see the Bevo eagle being used on this type of mounting on ribbon bar! Usually they just lie flat.

            Best Regards

            Alan
