Hello out there, I haven't come across one of these before ? can anyone tell me what this medal was awarded for and if this is a genuine one?

The medal is original, from the maker EGAÑA, the only one contracted by the spanish government to make them, but not all of them are from the Civil War period (1936-39). Hundreds of thousand of them were made for year after the war and remaining in diferent stores still apears here and there today.
By the way, these medals were awarded to every soldier who fight in the nationalist army during the war. There is another version, uperly similar to this one, but the black edge in the ribbon was green, for people who contributed to the victory in the rear.Last edited by Gregorio Torres; 10-27-2013, 01:55 PM.Comment
