    Memel Medal Bar

I just picked up this bar from Weitze.

What makes it exciting(well too me anyway) is that it is a

Slanted G Type 2: "Meyebauer" or "Double Acorn".

Wayne, you have here the most rare Memel. In all my life I've seen only 3 of these medals.
If one day you'll sell this stunning medal bar, let me know!!!

Congrats on this amazing find, this Memel worth a whole collection by itself.

        My books:

        - THE WEHRPAß & SOLDBUCH OF THE WH
        - THE SS TK RING
        - THE ITALIAN-GERMAN MEDAL
        - THE ANTI PARTISAN BADGE
        - THE AWARDS OF THE LW

        and more!

I'm only into certain types of medal bars, but I must confess this is a remarkable bar that I like. Maybe I should branch out a little more.

            Thanks for sharing.

Turns out that this bar has another scarce medal on it.

Thanks to Fabri-Online I now know that the EKII is a Mayer not often seen.

I know nothing about the makers of the EK II that is why I always ask on that forum who made the cross.

In a way it is unfortunate that I got the cross as it doesn't really mean anything to me other than it was on the bar that had the Memel I wanted.

I have this bar in my hands now.

One thing that was not mentioned in the original listing is that the
                      Sudetenland Medal is maker marked.

It is marked L/16 on the rim of the medal.

So L/16 and Meybauer don't exactly match up?

The Sudetenland is the medal marked with L/16 not the Memel.
