Medal Bar

I realize this is an Imperial Bar.

Looking for some comments from Pierce and Tom.

It has a 12yr Wehrmacht and a 25yr Police Long Service.

Is this possible or has the bar been diddled with?

The 4 yr Wehrmacht LS removed and replaced with the Police medal.

Hi Wayne,

Very nice with the Bremen Hanseatic Cross. The whites of the ribbons look so good that it almost scares me in a way, although I believe it is an original assembly. Could we maybe see a picture of the reverse?

What I see here is a bar to a Prussian NCO that became a policeman after the First World War, his military service time obviously counting toward the Police 25-Year Long Service. In my opinion, though, the Wehrmacht 12-Year LS does not belong here. Someone stuck that on because they wanted to pimp up the bar and make it look more nazi. And a simple swap, too, since the bar has clips for quick attachment/removal of the medals. What should be on this bar (IMO) is either a Prussian 9-Year Long Service Medal, a Prussian 12-Year Long Service Medal, or a Prussian 15-Year Long Service Cross. Any one of the three would work fine.

In the first picture below is an example of the Prussian 9-Year Long Service Medal.

In the second picture is an example of the Prussian 15-Year Long Service Cross for Unteroffizier.

The Prussian 12-Year would look like the Prussian 9-Year except that it would be golden-bronze in color and have the Roman Numeral XII on the reverse.

Just replace that Wehrmacht 12 year medal with a nice Imperial long service decoration.

Thanks for posting the picture of the reverse. Looks good. It's a shame, though, that we will never know for sure which of the Prussian Long Service Decorations was originally on there.

Those Prussian LS medals are very easy to find. Easy swap out and you have a spare WH LS medal to boot.
