    help with ribbon bar

    Hi guys

this threads a bit different from others because im trying to find a ribbon bar that would suit one of my recent jackets(shown below) the loops are a total of 8cm long and must be a full tr ribbon bar. im thinking ek2,kvk2,ost,heer long service and some campaign medals probably either 7 or 8place (if you can confirm) if anyone can help me locate a good ribbon bar i would appreciate it a lot

    Hi Beufighter,

It does not necessarily have to be a ribbon bar with lots of awards represented!

There are different ribbon sizes, most are 16mm wide, some are 25mm in width.
Here is a small example from my collection. The long ribbon bar at the bottom actually uses 32mm wide ribbons!!

I have a few ribbon bars that may fit your tunic. Drop me a PM if interested.

    Kind regards
    Pierce

      Hi beufighter,

Pierce is dead on, and I think it just depends on what look you are going for. The most common ribbons are 1,5cm in length, so it could just be a 6-ribbon bar for your loops. Could even be less; many times soldiers had extra loops there which were only used for the longer medal bar. You see period photos sometimes where a ribbon bar is in wear and a loop or two toward the collar remains unused. So it really depends.
