    CCC ..... iron cross ???

    Hi,

I have a painting of a german soldier. On this painting there is a CCC in bronze,a wound badge,EK2 ribbon and a infanterie assault badge. But there is no Iron cross 1.

Would that be possible to been decorated with a CCC but have no Iron cross 1 ???

    Thanks,

    Etienne

Yes, it could be possible. Award criteria of the CCC not involving and are not related with the EK1 conferral.

    My books:

    - THE WEHRPAß & SOLDBUCH OF THE WH
    - THE SS TK RING
    - THE ITALIAN-GERMAN MEDAL
    - THE ANTI PARTISAN BADGE
    - THE AWARDS OF THE LW

    and more!

just need confirmation that if a soldat got the gold ccc they automatically got the dkig (if they didn't already have it)??

Yes, this is correct. It was a rule established with the decree of august 30, 1944.

Thanks guys I just thought that after 15 close combat days the Iron cross 1 must be deserved as well in some situation.

Thanx for the nice picture. But still.....I find it hard to imagine that someone with the CCC and the general assault badge has no ek2 at least.

                    Hi!

I knew 2 soldiers (both enlisted men) of division "Totenkopf", both were awarded the CCC in bronze, none of them got at least the EK II! There was no automatism for those awardings.

                    Kind regards, Peter
