    Medal Bars

    Hello to all,

Just back from a small military show today. I brought two bars home with me: Nothing spectacular, but two nice, clean-looking bars. Hope you all like them.

    Best regards,
    Tom

I really like the uniform, subtle aging on this five-placer and the Luftschutz Decoration smack-dab in the center makes it.

A simple, all-Third Reich three-placer, assembled by ECK.

Typical of their assemblies are the light gray wool backing cloth and the squared-off ribbon rosettes. They would usually affix their label, centered and along the bottom edge of the backing cloth.

Those are nice. I like to see them like this with fair wear and mfg's tag. Emblazons a unique character.

          Tom, you said nothing spectacular...
          I say:
          - the first bar is really nice and to see the Lufschutz medal mounted is not so common;
          - the second medal bar has a very rare 1 Oktober medal produced from Otto Schicke... and this makes it, IMO, a stunning piece.

          My books:

          - THE WEHRPAß & SOLDBUCH OF THE WH
          - THE SS TK RING
          - THE ITALIAN-GERMAN MEDAL
          - THE ANTI PARTISAN BADGE
          - THE AWARDS OF THE LW

          and more!

              Thank you!

Thanks to all for the comments.

Here is another medal bar assembled by ECK. You can see how consistent their method of assembly was.

ECK typically used hooks to suspend the medals, rather than sewing them down to under-wrap ribbons. This made the medals removable if necessary. The suspension hooks are clearly visible on this two-placer.

              Best regards,
              Tom

                  Hello Rodrigo,

The following thread has pictures of medal bars assembled by various uniform and tailor shops. It may be of some help to you but it is a work in progress and far from complete.

Can you post a picture of what you are describing?

                  Best regards,
                  Tom
