    New Medal Bar

I just recieved this beauty in the mail today. The Minister of Finance (the wife) purchased this for me on my birthday a couple of weeks ago. All three medals are in outstanding condition. I had to contact a fellow forum member (tyanacek) to get a handle on the second medal in line as I had no idea what it was. Tom explained it to me and before I printed out the pm I deleted it! He did like the bar however and gave it the big thumbs up! So Tom, if you see this thread please explain the center medal to me again. I buy a medal bar every now and then (not really collecting them) and this one just jumped out at me.

Really nice. I love any and all medal bars that have a '39 EK2 on them.

              Hello Chet,

Happy belated birthday, and congratulations on getting this terrific medal bar. I noticed that it was gone from the Philipp website a few days ago. I'm glad that this piece has found a good home. Believe me, that bar was a bargain and if you ever get tired of it, feel free to contact me. The medal in the center is the Royal Rumanian Order of the Star, Knight's Grade with Swords. It has the proper ribbon for a post 1938 award which of course this one is. Only about 500 of these were awarded so this is one rare piece. Two German firms produced these Orders: Rudolf Souval of Vienna, and C.F. Zimmermann of Pforzheim. They were also produced by the Royal Mint in Bucharest and Resch of Bucharest. Once again, Congratulations and enjoy!
              Best regards! Tom
