What I find interesting is that some of these worn steel black wound badges retain the "polished" appearance. I've had one for 15 years and the bare metal still looks polished - no rust!

I have a question for those with more knowledge than I have. My one and only Wound Badge has a much rougher looking paint job than R MICHAEL's nice steel one. Would mine be a "repaint" or were there different textures? Please forgive the hand held pix as they could be sharper if I had a tripod.
