Poorly Kept Italian/German Afrika Korps medal

Hello All,
for review is this poorly kept zinc based medal for the Africa campaign.
The bronze covering has oxidised to a very dark shade, at the bottom of the medal I can just make out ILANO and at the left of the German soldiers leg is what I can only assume is a barely visible designers name.
The questions I have is firstly is it original?
Secondly am I right in guessing that this is a type 3 according to Antonio's work pinned at the top?

This came with a few Italian medals a Croatian Gallantry medal and the Infantry Assault badge I posted in Army SS badges

It looks like an original zinc medal that has seen better days; it was surely bad stored.
If you look at the pinned thread you can see the only type of medal with the designer name (De Marchis) engraved under the crocodile is the "Type 4".
