I read some interesting threads about the Hollow-back Gold Wound Badges. Was there any information pertaining to Deumer (L/11) manufacturing these at any time during the war?
This looks to be a "fired gilt" finish .. and not brass medal showing through on some "worn" black badges.
Thought it rather interesting none-the-less.

That one reminds me of my Black wound badge that was painted to silver, i´ve read somewhere that during the late stage of the war due to lack of silver/gold badges they repainted old black ones to fill the criteria of the recipient.

Don´t throw away your fake WB´s! Get in touch with me.
I collect them for reference purposes for the benefit of the hobby (for the right "fake" price of course).

It is generally accepted that such items were produced late war but very hard to tell wartime finished badges from post war refinished. I must say that both badges pictured in this thread look very believable indeed. Great if you got it cheap but rather hard to sell on in the future if you choose to part with it.
