Hi Scott, even for me a nice worn Italo-German medal.
This model is the only one (from what I found until today) that was surely made in Italy. There are 4 different patterns.

Interesting...

The medal above the makers name on bottom is in raised lettering... Above Maker seems to be, "DE MAROHIS.

Here is another one I just got and I noticed the maker is recessed. It appears to be DE MARSHIF... I like how it is in better shape and the rivets on the armor is much more visible...

I am sure it is trying to spell same thing but looks different letter??? Do you know what this is trying to say?

Hi Scott,

The name at the six o'clock position should read 'DE MARCHIS' and that is the name of the artist/sculptor that designed the medal. The 'DE MARCHIS' can be either in relief or incuse. The name 'LORIOLI' is the manufacturer in Milan that produced the medal.

Tom said all, I can only add that we can find the name of the first maker "Lorioli" and the name of the designer "De Marchis" even in all the patterns produced in Germany from other makers.
