On Apri 9, 1936, the German National Federation for the Breeding and Testing of Thoroughbreds instituted a badge in three classes...bronze, silver, and gilt.
The goal was to foster interest among the youth of Germany in all aspects of Horsemanship.
This badge later received official sanction from Hitler, and became a recognized national award.
It could be worn on the left breast of any uniform.
