    Memel Medal

Can someone please tell me the current value in a "normal collectorrs' environment" for a nice Memel medal with original ribbon and pin attachment -- without all of the yadda, yadda, about whether you believe the ribbon, pin attachment, etc., are correct. Let us assume it is all 100% correct since it was purchased years ago from a very respected German dealer. Detlev Nieman's price catalog does not help because it is a bit dated. Thanks to you all.

    Hello David,

The latest edition of the Nimmergut book (2012) shows the value to be €145-175, which would be convert to $195-235.

    Best regards,
    Tom

      Memel Medal

Thanks, Tom. Really appreciate your help. To the other readers of my original note above, on a second read of it this morning, I seem to have come across as perhaps "snarky," especially considering that I was asking for your help. That wasn't my intent so I apologize should I have sounded so.

Hi David, Memel with pin are 100% originals, so no problems about them.
For the value you can find medals from 200$ but I think you will be lucky, because I'm not able to find a Memel under 250$.

        My books:

        - THE WEHRPAß & SOLDBUCH OF THE WH
        - THE SS TK RING
        - THE ITALIAN-GERMAN MEDAL
        - THE ANTI PARTISAN BADGE
        - THE AWARDS OF THE LW

        and more!

Thank you, Antonio. I scoured the Internet militaria sites, both U.S. and Europe, and I could not find one for sale. Two European dealers are offering just the medal itself, but with no ribbon, pin, etc. One dealer is asking 195 euro for one in relatively poor condition and another is asking 240 euro. All of the good ones must be hiding in collections somewhere. I got mine years ago from Kai Winkler.
