Hi guys, some weeks ago we made a discussion about a SS 8 years medal.
After some researches I show you what I found and I'd like to know your opinion about.
This medal is condidered fake, but there are some details that let me me think:
1) the medal is die struck (a really expensive process only for made some fakes)
2) the medal has a weight of 28 grams (an original "type I" is around 24)
3) eyelet is corect soldered and done in the way of other TR period medals.
I bought a lot of fakes, also in the web site (thanks JC Gray) who sells medals that looks like this, but the medals are:
1) all cast
2) with less quality
3) with a weight of 14/15 grams (more than 10 less than an original).
I'm still looking for an example like this but until today I found no one; I'd like handle one for personal inspection.
Any opinion/improvement, for our collector community, is really appreciated.
