10/1/38 medal question

How does this medal look? I have not had one before in what I think is zink?? odd color..thanks Mike

Hello Mike,

It looks like both a nice medal and ribbon. I'm not sure that the medal is zinc, though. It does look a bit grayish, but I actually think it is dark-oxidized bronze.

Even for me the medal is a bronze alloy, not zinc.

Hello Mike,

Here is a similar Czech Annexation Medal that shares the same dull bronze/grayish look. It is not zinc, but what the Germans call Bronze-oxidiert. This actual medal was awarded to a Luftwaffe pilot, Uffz. Christian Reißer, in 1939.
