    NSDAP Medal Bar Opinions

    Gentlemen,

    A Happy New Year to you.

    A friend of mine has asked me to post up this medal bar for opinions and an ID.

    My own thoughts on the piece is that it is a post-war put-together. Here are the things I do not like:

    -EK2 non-combatant ribbon;
    -NSDAP 15 Year Decoration;
    -Same colour of thread used to sew down all medals (though not a major issue by itself);
    -The catch and pin.

    Your thoughts are welcome on this piece.

    Kind regards
    Pierce

        To me the bar says civilian, perhaps an industrialist working in war production for both wars, perhaps construction. I've seen a few "Nazi" bars and it seems to me that they usually have nothing higher than a war merit cross from WW2. Hitler had quite a few supporters in industry early on.

        As to the construction of the bar, you have it in hand I presume. Is the NC ribbon original? Can you post better shots of the hardware?

          Hi Don,

          I do not own the medal bar.

          Kind regards

            Hi Pierce,

            I agree with your assessment that this is a postwar assembly, made with a mixture of real and fake parts. I do not like the pin and catch either, so I suspect that the entire mounting plate is bad.

            All of the medals look original, except for the NSDAP 15-Year LS Cross, which is a fake for sure.

            I do not like the look of the ribbons for both of the NSDAP LS crosses and I believe they are modern. As Don mentions, I would also scrutinize the non-combatant ribbon for the EK2. I find that the pictures here are just not good enough to be absolutely certain about most of the ribbons on this bar.

            Best regards,
            Tom

              hello
              i agree with tom the 15 years is sure a FAKE, with this medal i think that the enter medalbar is more suspect!
              best regards

                I can only agree with you guys, the hardware is not what I would expect to see in an original bar, and the 15 years medal is a fake.
                This is enough for me, I would never want it in my collection.
