    Memel Medal Bar

Latest addition to my Memel Family.

Thinking it's an early mount because of the Orange coloured EKII ribbon?

Four year LS seems to have a heavy silver plate.

    Memel is a Type 29.

The bonus to all of this is that the Sudetenland Medal is a Petz & Lorenz.

Although I didn't know that when I bought the bar.

    Thanks Antony for your guidance!

Ribbons are a little soiled but who cares.

    Hi Wayne

What a great medal bar! I really like it! Can you post a photo of the reverse?

With regard to the EK2 ribbon colour- I do not think this has anything to do with it being an "early mount". The dyes in some ribbons went this way. I am sure I recall reading a thread or two about this on here somewhere; they would give a better explanation than what I could.

    Best regards

In my opinion a medal bar for a kriegsmarine member.

            What a great photo!

I want to add one of those Donald Duck caps to my collection.

            I really like them.

Especially in white or with the white cover.,

              Hello Wayne,

Very nice medal bar. Could you check the Sudetenland Occupation Medal with a magnet? I suspect that it is bronzed iron and will attract a magnet.

              Thank you & best regards,
              Tom

It is indeed magnetic just like it's Memellandes counterpart.

Something else the LS medal and Eagle device are non magnetic.

Glad to here the Sudetenland Medal is magnetic. Is it slightly larger than your standard Sudetenland Medal? I have an Anschluss Medal like this, I believe also Petz & Lorenz.

LS medal and eagle must be made from tomback.

                  Best regards

You're right. The Sudetenland Medal by Petz & Lorenz is larger than your average medal.

another one with early 1piece non magnetic schinkel

                          i think the bar´s good.

it is from a maat of the kriegsmarine, who joined it in 1936.

one of ~ 13.000 awarded persons of the KM.
