    Single Mounts

Picked up recently for my collection.

War Merit Medal and 12yr Heer Long Service.

Not uncommon medals but tough to find this way.

I'm certainly used to seeing the LSA single mount, however, I agree... the single mount KVK medal is a tough one to find. Very nice examples of each!

Thanks Rob. In my experience lots of 4yr around but not too many 12's.

I would wonder at a 12yr being mounted on its own like this, but it did happen for whatever reason. The KVM is a really nice find, quite hard to get on medal bars!

        Best regards

Both are very nice pieces Wayne, and both are rare to see around single mounted!

          - THE SS TK RING

Who knows for sure when it was done.

            Myself I don't really care.

Everything checks out so I'm happy.

I need a 25yr single mount but so far have not come across one.

I have always wondered why there are single mounts for the long service medals. I can't imagine wearing an 18 or 25 year medal by itself.

To add to Bob's thought - 25 years without another medal would be nearly impossible. I'm not saying it couldn't happen but even with wartime counting double I would think he would get something else even if by accident with that much time served.

                  Not a parade mount.......

I think I've seen posts on the forum where some think this type of 25yr is a post war Souval.

                          How about this pair.

Who knows when this was done.

You would figure it should be on a bar with a whole bunch of other medals.

However or whenever it was made, it was made wrong.
There should be a gold 12 year medal on the right, not an 18 silver cross.

I think it was made this way on purpose. No way to tell for sure though.

                              Everything is nice and tight.

It doesn't look like a 12/4yr replaced with the 25/18yr awards.

As to when it was done? Your guess is as good as mine.
