I have seen this photo somewere before, but I cant remember where?

Austrian Military Merit Cross 3rd Class w/War Decoration & Swords was a fairly prestigious award... is there a list of recipients?

Austrian Military Merit Cross 3rd Class w/War Decoration & Swords was a fairly prestigious award... is there a list of recipients?

Unfortunately no!
But only officers were awarded the MMC. So if You have time enough, You could read every Militär-Schematismus (including Landwehr, Marine...) from 1849 to 1917. After that only the awardees from the year 1918 and from the "Heller-Kommission" (which handled the "Belohnungsanträge" after the end of WWI) are missing...

Sadly, I guess his identity will have to remain a mystery...
