      Hello Bob,

Sorry, but that is fake ribbon bar that most likely originated out of Cincinnati, Ohio.

      Best regards,
      Tom

No worries Tom. I didn't pay an arm and a leg, and it's a good placeholder for my Waffenrock. I suspected as much, but thanks for confirmation.

What?? No devices on the anschluss and the memel?

But ok, 2 of the ribbons have dubbel devices so there are still 11 devices on a 11 place bar. These Ohio bars are always so over the top...

Perhaps the maker decided this "soldier" would be modest

Must of been some of his early work!

Some of the 'devices' look ok and the quality of the back-plate and stitching is higher than the usual 'sloppy'

As well he did not perfect his artificial aging yet on this bar.

Perhaps I have started a whole new line of collecting???

Oh, it is a thing of beauty for sure. I don't collect these, and likely will never. To me, it is only to complete a tunic display.

Thank you gentlemen, and I am happy to have supplied your entertainment for the day.

                Just curious.....but who is "he"?

                  yes, who is MR. Ohio?

I'm not familiar with Mr. Ohio either. Does this reprofiteer have a name attached to his spurious handiwork?

                    Hello guys,

You may wish to read the discussion thread in the link below:

                    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ohio+fraud+bar

If you go to post #29 of that thread, you will find the answer you seek. There was also another guy from the Cincinnati area (Tom Koenig) that put together reproduction ribbon bars. They were always labeled and sold as reproductions but, unfortunately, these bars have really polluted the collector market with loads of crap. As these bars exchanged hands from one collector to the next, many started getting passed off as "original" to the unwary.

                    Best regards,
                    Tom

                      Yip, "Ohio fake" for sure.

                      Very useful link, thanks Tom.

                      Best regards
                      Pierce
