    Ostvolk 2nd. Class in Gold w/Swords

    Recently I acquired an Ostvolk 2nd/class with swords. All I have to go on as to the color of the award is the ribbon, which if you believe it, would indicate that it is in the gold class.

    My question is, it looks as though the "gold" finish was never applied to the medal. Not just worn off, never applied. Has anyone ever run into this in the past? I'll be happy to post or email pics if necessary.

      The zink alloy is a metal on which sometimes the finish seems to be never applied.
      But pictures are needed to understand what we are talking about.
