    Croatian 3 place ribbon bar

I have had this ribbon bar in my collection for quite a while but it just drew my attention again today.

I suppose this is for a Croatian National with the Croation award (forget the name), Kriegsverdienstkreuz 2. Klasse ohne Schwerten and the Hungarian Fire Cross.

    Is this a possibility?

    Thanks

    Erich

HI Erich, this is the Croatian War Commemorative Ribbon, issued in 1943 and worn until the end of the war, it came with and without a metal national emblem in the center, the version w/o emblem as you have was given to all who did military service for at least one year while the version with the emblem had the same the same requirements as just listed plus having enemy contact for six months, spending at least six months at the front or commanding fighting six units for at least six months with the ribbon being worn between the second and third button-hole on "button up" tunics and between the first and second button-holes on "open collar" tunics (lighweight?).

      Thanks John,

I have a few pictures of this award in wear in my collection, just forgot the name at the moment.

        Hi Erich,

The in-wear photos are very nice, I have not seen such photos before.

HI Erich, my friend has luck doing that, I go with him sometimes and do the flashlight thing looking for stuff in the dark but never luck-out.

              Hi Erich,

Very nice ribbon bar. I would imagine there was once swords on the KVK ribbon, there seems to be some sort of a hole there.

Also the last ribbon reminds me more of the Memel ribbon than the Hungarian Fire decoration...the red stripes are almost too thick to be the Hungarian ribbon but I am not sure how much sense a Memel would make if this is a Croatian ribbon bar as opposed to being a German ribbon bar. Unfortunately the ribbon is quite faded for me to be sure.

              Kind regards
              Pierce

                Hi Pierce,

On the back of the bar you can still see the green bars on the ribbon. I am open for input here, it is just an assumption that it is a Hungarian award.

Yes I saw a little something green on the reverse.

You have it in hand; can you see the Hungarian ribbon design?
I may be seeing things but I think there are white stripes between the red stripes and the central green stripe....hence me thinking of the Memel ribbon. It is faded so it is hard to be 100% accurate.

Edit: here is the Hungarian Fire Decoration ribbon for comparison.

                  Best
                  Pierce

Nice bar Erich and very very nice pictures!
I'm with Pierce, the last ribbon seems to be for the Memel medal.

I think finding the Memel here is a very nice surprise.

A very interesting combination....just off the top of my head - a naval man stationed in Pula on the Istrian Penisula...

What would be the proper order then as on a German bar shouldn't the foreign decorations come last?
