    WW2 German Plate......any info please?

Hi........i am new here and am wondering if anyone has seen a similar WW2 German bravery award plate like this one? My father was a British soldier and brought it back from the war. I dont believe it was ever issued and i managed to trace some of the history of the guy that earned it, and he died in action a couple of months after this date. Any ideas on value and/or rarity? I have never seen one like it before. Thanks for any help!

Darn! I cant figure out how to attach a pic on here!

          Email address sent.

An Association Member pays a fee of 25$ per year.

One of perks is you can download photos till the cows come home.

Here's the plate. Maybe a close up of the wording will help others.

It looks like it was awarded to a German Sgt.(Hans Prigge).

Yep he was a Sergeant (Hans Prigge) who was killed shortly after. Rarity? Ever seen one like it? Must have been a BIG deal for a lowly sergeant to get such an award.

Thanks for putting the pic up for me!

First one I've seen like it.

No doubt it's probably not that common.

Maybe some of the other members will chime in.

                  It's a really nice plate.

                  Any silver hallmarks?

Looks like it was awarded for his service.

This is an extremely rare award, only 50 were awarded with the "Ehrenschale für hervorragende Kampfleistungen der Luftwaffe".

                    Better pictures are needed.

                        It is Luftwaffe.

Looks like it was the counter part for field staff. Where the air crews got the honour goblet.

                          Yes it is!

The "Luftwaffe Erhenschale" was introduced on June 25th 1942 (from Goering) as the ground unit version of the flying personnel "Luftwaffe Ehrenpokal".
It was an award for outstanding combat performance given to the LW field Army units.
