Luftshultz & 25 Yr Long Service

Hello to all. I just ordered these 2 medals and was hoping for some opinions on them... They look good to me, but I'd still like to hear what you all have to say. Nothing to snazzy just some standard stuff..

both look just fine to me. the luft is mm which is great bonus. what is the mm plze. the luft box is battered but never made strong. the covering inside the box i must say looks like it has shrunk ?? or is that where the side of the case has weakened?? the 25 looks imo . my views only

As I jsut ordered them I won't be able to see until they get here what the MM is. As for hte inside of the case shrinking, it is my understanding that that was casued by the outside of the cases structural damage. Meaning the liner is the correct size and the box has changed shape due to the damage shown. I'll be able to see better when they get here.

Is it normal for a Luft medal to be mm'd?

              Thanks Chris!

Both very nice awards.......most of the Luftsultz medals I have seen are not maker marked.

there was a thread not long ago about lufts hence the mm question. i have one of each a alu and the other heavier both not mm. i personnally do not know what mm are acceptable on these but very rare to find, hence interesting to know to point out the maker, keep us informed ...thanks

Chris, most certainly will do. Does anyone have any concearns with the Luft medal? I know I too have never seen a mm'd one but I am sure that there must be a few. To my Virgin eyes it looks like a 25 from the pics above, but as you know mm's can be decieving until you get a "closer" look.

                    I'll keep you all posted.

                      Hello Shane,

Very nice 25 Year Faithful Service in mint condition. The box has a bit of wear, but overall a very nice set. I like the foil maker label for Rudolf Wächtler & Lange.
I also like the Luftschutz Medal, and it looks to be an aluminum issue in very good condition. The box is beat up, but it is still nice to have as they are a little hard to come by. The ribbon looks to be ok as well. The maker marked suspension ring is an extra treat as others have already stated. The medals that came in this box had the ribbon attached to the medal and pin mounted, so I'm thinking that this is probably a pieced-together set. Still nice though.
                      Best regards! Tom

Thanks Tom, that is what I had figured to about the Luft Medal. I have only seen 2 other boxed examples and they both had the ribbon attached.

Thanks for the good news and I will be sure to post reference pics of the mm when they arrive. The W&L sticker is something that attracted me to this boxed set, aside from it's condition.

                        Cheers!
