ID of SS marked collar tab.

A couple years ago I picked up a US WW2 mussette bag at a gun show. After using it at the show to carry all my pickings, I dumped everything out on my table and found a collar tab. About 4 years ago I got some ID on it, but since lost the site. Can anyone shed some light on it? Also, If I were to sell, how should I go about it?

Since I cannot post a picture yet let me give a description-
Diamond shaped. SS is embroidered in the top half, With a spread wing eagle clasping a swastika from the middle of the diamond down. The swastika is framed be a small wreath, with a large one surrounding the body of the eagle with the wing tips over lapping. It has maybe 25% of the glue backing still on. The tab is black with everything else being grey/silver.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

    Welcome to the forum.

This may be something to post in the Uniform section.

    Kind regards

Not a collar tab....sounds like a sleeve diamond for "Assignment in SS und Polzeiwesen im Reichssicherheit-Hauptant (SS & Police Matters in the Reich Security Central Office)"......

The Runes over a Police-style eagle.....

You'd need to show photos of the front and back to say if real....99% of originals are cotton embroidered on wool.....if "bullion", 99% chance it's a fake!

      Originals are very scarce!

Did some looking on line, and yes it is a police style eagle. I had found almost an exact match for sale a few years ago on a site, but it is no longer on there.

Not sure if it is because I am too new to the forums, but I see no link to post pictures.

You need to be an Association Member to post photos- $25 a year, very worthwhile.
