Hello guys,
I think we can add another name to the list of makers of Wehrmacht Long Service Decorations. This weekend I was fortunate to stumble onto this packeted Wehrmacht LS Medal. I have never seen this type of glassine packet before. Near the top it has the letters 'PuC' within a black diamond. This is almost certainly a logo used by the Lüdenscheid firm of Paulmann & Crone. Inside the packet is a mint piece of original long service ribbon, a mint gold eagle device, and a mint long service medal. The only discrepancy is that the medal is a 4-Year LS (IV. Class Silver Medal) while the packet is actually for a 12-Year (III. Class Gold Medal). So whether this medal is actually a Paulmann & Crone-made 4-Year, mistakenly placed in in the wrong packet at the factory, or a mix up by a previous owner/collector I can't say. But we can certainly add this maker to the list as the packet is indisputable.
Best regards,
Tom
